In May 2023 I had the great fortune of spending a week in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks with several photographers and two awesome guides. It is one of the best times of the year to visit the park—fresh green grass, water flowing everywhere, newborn animals, and the bears are out, with their cubs, after a long hibernation. And best of all, the crowds are minimal and the weather is great. Here are some selected shots from the Landscapes of Yellowstone and Grand Teton.

This image was taken from my iPhone as we were exiting the park around sunset. We slowed down and I looked out the window of the van and captured this image

The snowcapped mountains in the background make this image complete.

The mineral deposits seen on Mammoth Hot Springs results in this array of colors

Early sunrise we were taking photos of Elk until I turned around and noticed this spectacular view behind us.

Mammoth Hot Springs

Looking straight up into these trees and twisting my camera as I shot this image.

I grabbed this image just before the sun went behind the hill.

No photoshop editing here--this is the true color of this scene.

We got to this spot around 5AM to capture the lighting on this barn at just the right moment.

These are Bobby Sox trees taken with an Infrared Filter.

When we were taking photos of the barn at 5AM I turned around and noticed this sole horse in the pasture just as the sun was rising.

You can see the steam coming off this hot spring.

I couldn't believe how crystal clear this reflection stood out on this lake.

The people in the background are on a boardwalk to keep off the boiling springs.

One of my favorite images of just two guys talking on the boardwalk close to sunset.
