New Works of Photography and Paintings
This is a folder containing new photos and paintings that were created since my last postings on the web site. As you will see, there are photos and paintings from many different genres. When I create more material, in about 6 months time, I will take these images and place them in their appropriate albums. For now, please enjoy viewing the new works, and feel free to send comments. Thanks again for allowing me to share my creativity with you!

While walking in Strouds Preserve I came across this "stick". I looked at it and looked at it and finally took it home to photograph.

Baby Rowan dressed up for the holidays

Before Leah and I traveled toUganda she cut her hair. Here's my attempt to capture her in a painted portrait

Heavy Metal was the subject of a photo competition. Leah was kind enough to be my model--all the piercings and tattoos are fake!

Tulip field at Longwood Gardens using a Lensbaby lens

Longwood Gardens

Longwood Gardens Tulip Display. One tulip stood out among the rest.

This wilted flower reminded me of a dancer.

I find that flowers before and after peak bloom make for far more interesting photos.

Peony season at Longwood Gardens. This one still had a few days to open up.

Another early morning landscape shot that resulted in an abstract image using multiple exposures.

Watching this Peony, I was intrigued by all the ants having a field day.

One rarely gets a chance to really notice all the pollen a flower produces.

Early wintry morning the trees were lined with just enough snow. This is a multiple exposure shot of 7 images.

Another multiple exposure shot taken just at sunrise.

Another early wintry morning looking up at the tops of trees.

View of the Upper East Side of Manhattan from Roosevelt Island during my hike across all the manhattan bridges last summer.

I painted this image form an old photo I took of myself playing the trombone. It's the largest painting I've ever done--2 X 3 feet.

I painted this image from a Still Life I set up and photographed.

That "stick" I found walking in Strouds Preserve lent itself to a funky image using photoshop filters.

Here's painting I just finished. The idea came from Dane Tilghman who paints wonderful distorted paintings. I had the chance to meet him at an art show.

This is a painting of a meadow at Longwood Gardens using water-mixable oils and cold wax.

This is a painting from my Still Life photograph. I really enjoyed painting this image.

This Calla Lily was painted from a photo I took at Longwood Gardens. It reminded me of a Georgia O'Keefe painting.

Here is Rowan being held by "Grandneighbor".

I had this concept of taking an action shot of men playing racquetball at the gym. I sat on the floor while these guys smacked the ball above my head. It's incredible loud inside these courts (and scary, too)

I needed a photo of a flash-blur shot so I decided to set up the camera to photograph me while I played the guitar. I couldn't decide if I liked the color or the B&W image better (so I included both).

Here's the B&W photo of my flash-blur image of me playing guitar.

I photographed this Still Life of dying Sunflowers that I then painted.

Rowan all dressed up for Halloween.

My neighbor had Mourning Doves build a nest, lay eggs, and then care for the young until they all flew away. This bird let me get within 4 feet to take this shot.

Addison running down the basketball court to get on defense.

Before these assorted pumpkins were tossed out I set up a still life to photograph. I then painted an exact copy (shown in this collection).

I love the concentration in Addison's face waiting for the ball to arrive.
